| Usernames/Passwords:
When you first register to view the job search listings,
you will be required to create your own username and password.
However, you may notice that in order to use the message forum,
chat room, or online store, it will ask you to create another
username and password. This is because there are different
programs that make up the complete site. We encourage you
to use the same username and password you originally used
to register for the site, but you will have to re-enter the
same information for each separate program. This way you will
be able to navigate through the site with the same username
and password that you originally created. Please send us an
email if you have any questions.
Job Searching:
Click job search and select the state in which you would
like to search for a job. The number of schools listed and
the number of schools currently hiring in that state will
be displayed. Just register and/or login and you will be on
your way to finding a job that suits you best.
Our main goal is to consolidate as much information as possible
about flight schools around the nation and provide it to you
in an easy to understand format. However, there is still a
lot of information that we simply cannot provide about every
flight school. For example, some schools offer several services
such as fixed wing and rotorcraft flight training. Since we
could not list all of this information on the site, the only
way for you to discover this is to visit their web site! The
flight schools know best about what services they provide,
so it is up to you to find the best one that suits your needs.
How to use the flight school listings:
Each state will have a list of the flight schools specifically
hand picked by the flightinstructingjobs.com staff for you
to browse. They are listed in alphabetical order from top
to bottom. Some schools may have several locations within
the state and therefore there may be additional listings under
the same name.
Each flight school listing will have their contact information
listed including their company name, address, phone/fax numbers,
a link to their website, and a link to their job postings
page if they should have one. Next to the contact information
the company may either list their name in large underlined
letters, or include a logo that will also be linked to their
own web site.
We have not included e-mail contacts for the schools because
we encourage you to visit their web site and research the
school to find the best person to contact for employment information.
The address information is to inform you of the school location,
and the phone/fax contact information is for general inquiries
only that may help you in making a decision. Each school has
their own preference in how they would like to be contacted,
which will be displayed on their web site. The majority of
schools would like you to either fill out their online form,
or send an e-mail to the appropriate person for employment
inquiries.
If a school is hiring a red scroller will be displayed that
says "Currently Accepting Resumes". When you see
this just click on the "Job Postings" link and you
will be redirected to their web site for further information
on the job. Since some schools do not have a specific page
dedicated to employment, we have listed a suggestion in parenthesis
like ("Click Job Opportunities") next to the "Job
Postings" link to help you in finding that information
on their site. Some schools may still have a "Job Postings"
link, however they may not be hiring at that time and a red
scroller will not be present. For the schools that do not
have a job postings link, we are in the process of requesting
schools to add this information to their site to inform you
of their hiring status.
Universities:
When looking for employment with a university, you may have
to find the aviation site beginning at their home page. Most
programs can be found by clicking "Academic Programs"
and searching for the aviation department. Otherwise, you
can find them by using a search tool and entering "Aviation".
We have done this so that you can learn more about the school
and the programs it offers.
Flying Clubs:
We have also included flying clubs as part of our search
index. Most flying clubs have independent instructors on staff
that are used to teach other members. Flying clubs are normally
nonprofit organizations and generally do not "hire"
flight instructors. To find a job with a flying club you will
most likely need to join the club as a general member and
then begin teaching as an independent flight instructor. This
is a great opportunity to interact with people who truly enjoy
flying and is a great way to gain experience while having
a lot of fun!
Message Board/Chat Rooms:
If you would like to use the message board and chat rooms,
you must create a user name and password for that service
as well. There are no additional charges for this and it can
be a great way to network with other instructors around the
nation. Just click on community forum and follow the instructions
to create your own account. If there are additional message
board topics that you would like us to add, just send us an
e-mail and we would be happy to add them.
Photo Gallery:
The photo gallery contains several pictures taken by our
staff that have been posted for you to view. In the future
we will look into having a contest like "Picture of the
Month" and the winner will be added to a specific gallery.
At the end of the year the top twelve photos will be collected
and a calendar will be made containing the winners!
